Tax Credits to be granted to Female-Owned Undertakings

March, 2016 - Following a consultation with Malta Enterprise, the Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business has released the Tax Credits for Micro Enterprises and the Self-Employed (Amendment) Regulations under Legal Notice 36 of 2016. This adds to the advantages of Malta as a tax jurisdiction. The tax credits shall not exceed €50,000 over any period of three consecutive years.
According to the principal regulations, Malta Enterprise may now grant tax credits to female-owned enterprises running businesses and trades. In order to attain the grant of tax credits, the undertaking must provide relevant proof showing that it is applying to develop, modernise or further invest in its business operating in Malta.
